Survivor of Suicide Loss Day Graphic

For those of you who have lost a loved one to suicide, we are so sorry for your loss and hope have or will soon find peace in their memories. The Saturday before Thanksgiving is a day we honor family and friends of those lost to suicide. It is a day of reflection, a day to show gratitude and appreciation for the time spent with each other. It is also an opportunity to support others who have experienced this tragic loss. November 18th is Suicide Loss Survivor day. Losing a loved one to suicide is a terrible tragedy and comes with a lot of complicated feelings. We are so fortunate to have support in our community to help survivors of suicide loss find peace with the loss.

With the onset of cold weather throughout the area during winter months, the Mead School District will operate with the following processes in the event of low temperatures:

  • For morning arrival: if the temperature is 20 degrees or colder (including wind chill/feels like) students will be instructed to line up inside the building. For example, if the air temperature reads 21 or higher, but the temperature with wind chill reads 20 or below, inside lineup will commence.
  • For recess: if the temperature is 15 degrees or colder (including wind chill/feels like), then students will stay inside for an indoor recess period.
