Events for 2017- 2018

The Mead School District is hosting six STEM Forward Events. These events help bridge the gap between school and real life jobs with the goal of enhancing interest, motivation and direction for Mead students.


 
 
Event #4: Mead SD Tinker Faire - Open to students in grades 7-8. Thursday, February 15 @ Riverpoint Academy, 6-8 pm.
 
The event is open to 200 students. The Tinker Faire will feature hands-on, fun-filled projects that focus on creativity, tinkering, making and building. Students will rotate through interactive stations designed to stimulate their imaginations. Click here to register.

Event #5: Mead SD Robotics Competition - Open to students in grades 7-12. Saturday, February 24 @ Mt. Spokane High School. Finals: 12:30 pm.
 
Event #6: STEMplosion - Open to 60 students in grades 7-12. Friday, March 16 @ Whitworth University, 6-8 pm. A registration link will be available in early March.
 

Past Events
Event #1: Medical Mystery Night - Friday, December 1 @ WSU Spokane Health Sciences, 5:45-8 pm. This event was open to 125 Mead School District 5-8 graders. Students participated in teams, visiting five different health science departments - Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Nutrition & Exercise Physiology and Speech & Hearing - gathering clues to solve a medical mystery.
 
 
Event #2: Mead SD STEM Night - Wednesday, January 17 @ Mead High School, 5:15-8 pm. Featured Speaker: Brightworks Founder Gever Tulley.
