Safety Plan

When it comes to the safety of our students and staff, the Mead School District will always prioritize health & well-being. Our students will continue to be safe, challenged, and supported.
 
 
Beginning the School Day
  • Parents attest to student health via online survey or phone call
  • Staff attest to their health via online survey or phone call
  • Bus Transportation:
    • Students wear masks and physically distance at bus stop
    • Students wear masks and maximize distance on bus in assigned seating
    • High touch areas cleaned between elementary and secondary runs
    • Whole bus cleaned after AM, midday, and PM runs
  • Elementary students line up to enter school wearing masks and distanced
  • Students enter school through Safe Entrance Zones following guidelines
 
During the School Day
  • Students enter classrooms with processes for cleaning & social distancing
  • Students & staff wear masks, practice good hand hygiene and stay six feet apart
  • Students and staff follow safe processes for hallway, recess and meals
  • Students and staff who report symptoms are isolated and sent home
  • Classroom furniture arranged to maintain social distancing
  • Staff frequently clean high touch areas following strict protocols
  • School ventilation is maximized to exchange outside air while maintaining comfortable temperature
  • Health and isolation rooms follow strict cleaning protocols & PPE guidelines
 
Ending the School Day
  • Students follow safe processes for exiting schools and boarding busses
  • Students follow safe bus procedures
  • Staff clean & disinfect school following guidelines and strict protocols
