Smarter Balance Test

The online Smarter Balance Assessment takes place each spring for students in grades 3 - 8 in both English Language Arts (ELA) and Math. At the high school level the Smarter Balanced ELA exam (English Language Arts) is for all 10th graders. Students in Grade 11 are required to take the Smarter Balanced ELA and Math tests.

MSP Testing (Measurement of Student Progress)

MSP testing occurs in grades 5 and 8 in the subject area of science and is also online.

EOC Testing (End of Course)

Math testing in grades 9-12 in Algebra 1 and Geometry will take place in late May and the beginning of June.  Students in 10th grade who have not taken Biology will still have to take the Biology EOC because of the No Child Left Behind requirement to assess science in high school. Students must pass a Biology EOC in order to graduate.  The Biology, EOC, like the Math EOCs, will be administered in late May.

Each winter, students have the opportunity to retake an End-Of-Course exam in Algebra 1, Geometry and Biology. Additionally, each fall the state has several retake opportunities.
