The Mead community sits just north of Spokane, Washington, and is often considered part of Spokane. Many of our students live in the boundaries of Spokane, or other neighboring towns such as Colbert, Washington.
Located only 10 miles north of downtown Spokane, the district combines the conveniences of city living with the comfortable environment of country life.
Recreational opportunities abound. Five major ski areas, one hundred lakes, biking, camping, and hunting areas are located within a ninety-minute drive of Spokane. In addition, the Spokane area boasts the largest number of golf courses per capita in the United States.
The Mead School District has a national reputation for providing excellence in education. Mead students consistently rank among the state’s top scholars. In addition, activity and athletic programs are highly successful and offer opportunities for all students to be involved.
