The construction of single points of entry at Brentwood Elementary and Evergreen Elementry are complete. Both schools now have a second set of inside main entry doors, which are locked once school is in session. These new doors are visible from the main office. When parents or visitors arrive during the school day they are buzzed into the main office by office staff.
The Mead School District Board of Directors on August 24, 2016, awarded the General Contractor/Construction Manager (GCCM) contract for the renovation of Midway Elementary to Bouten Construction Company.
Installation of new access control entry systems throughout the district was started this past spring with work continuing throughout the summer months. This new system will include an entry card similar to that used at hotels, with the addition of a personal access code.
A lot of dirt has been moved in the past six weeks on the Northwood campus. The irrigation system is in place for the new sports fields (football, softball & baseball) and paving on the new bus loop between Northwood and Farwell will begin very soon.
Kathy (McCabe) Westlake is the Garco Construction on-site superintendent for the Northwood project. Her interest in construction started with a scheduling mistake at the beginning of her junior year at Mead High School.
