Academic State Champions

Each athletic season - fall, winter & spring - school districts in Washington State submit team GPAs to the WIAA. In addition to recognizing the 16 teams from Mead High and 19 teams from Mt. Spokane who received Outstanding (3.50-4.00 GPA) and Distinguished (3.00-3.49 GPA) Awards we congratulate the Mead High Girls Cross-Country Team who, with a 4.00 team GPA, is the 2018 4A Academic State Champion! 2018 State Slowpitch Softball Champions

Congratulations to the Mt. Spokane Slowpitch Softball Team (Coach Carl Adams) who captured the 2018 slowpitch softball title on October 27 at the state tournament in Richland by defeating Lake Washington 18-0, Central Valley 4-3 and U High 10-4.

Solar Farm Ribbon Cutting Featured Speaker

At the October 23, 2018, official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Avista's Adams-Nielson Solar Farm in Lind, Washington, our own Travis Bown (Maintenance Director) joined Governor Jay Inslee on stage as one of the featured speakers. Flight & Space Balloon Launch

On Saturday, October 20, 2018, Northwood Middle School students in Renee Demand's Project Lead the Way Flight & Space class traveled to Ritzville where they, in partnership with Whitworth Physics Outreach students, launched a balloon that reached just over 105,000 feet before bursting and sending experimental pods back to earth. Cat Scramble 2018

A record breaking $70,000 Cat Scramble check was presented on October 5, 2018, during "Battle of the Bell" pregame festivities. This money will be split equally between the Mead High and Mt. Spokane Athletic Booster Clubs and used to support teams at each school. Read more . . .
