New Meadow Ridge Principal

On July 1, 2017, Chris Backman will join the Mead School District as the new principal at Meadow Ridge Elementary replacing Shawn Worstell who is retiring. Mr. Backman comes to Mead from University Place School District, on the west side of the state, where he has served as principal at Evergreen Primary School for the last four years. Read more . . .

Mead SD 2017 Spokane Scholars

The Mead School District is home to two Spokane Scholars . . . Noah Placzek from Mead High received the top $4,000 grant in Fine Arts and Taylor Bastian from Mt. Spokane was the $2,000 grant recipient in English. Spokane area high school seniors are nominated in six categories - Fine Arts, English, Math, Science, Social Studies & World Languages. Congratulations to 14 members of the Mt. Spokane High School DECA program who, at the March 2-4, 2017, state competition, qualified for DECA Nationals taking place in Anaheim, California, in late April. The Mead High "Membership Campaign" also qualified. Read more . . .
