Solar Farm Ribbon Cutting Featured Speaker

At the October 23, 2018, official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Avista's Adams-Nielson Solar Farm in Lind, Washington, our own Travis Bown (Maintenance Director) joined Governor Jay Inslee on stage as one of the featured speakers. Flight & Space Balloon Launch

On Saturday, October 20, 2018, Northwood Middle School students in Renee Demand's Project Lead the Way Flight & Space class traveled to Ritzville where they, in partnership with Whitworth Physics Outreach students, launched a balloon that reached just over 105,000 feet before bursting and sending experimental pods back to earth. Cat Scramble 2018

A record breaking $70,000 Cat Scramble check was presented on October 5, 2018, during "Battle of the Bell" pregame festivities. This money will be split equally between the Mead High and Mt. Spokane Athletic Booster Clubs and used to support teams at each school. Read more . . .

Spring 2018 State Test Scores

Results from last spring are in and Mead School District students scored exceptionally well on state tests. The district composite score was well above the state average in all five tested areas. Read more . . .

Congratulations to the 150 Mt. Spokane and Mead High students who scored so well on last spring's Advanced Placement exams that they earned special designations from The College Board. We also congratulate and thank our AP teachers who helped prepare students for these exams. Read more . . .

Avista Rebate Check

At the September 24th School Board Meeting Nicole Hydzik from Avista Utilities presented a check to the Mead School District in the amount of $52,326.68! This represents rebates earned from upgrading LED fixtures and lights at multiple schools. Read more . . .

Cat Scramble 2018

Over 180 golfers participated in the 2018 Cat Scramble Golf Tournament on Saturday, September 22. Proceeds from this event (split equally between the Mead High & Mt. Spokane Athletic Booster Clubs) will be presented at the October 4th Mt. Spokane @ Mead High Volleyball Match (7 pm) and during "Battle of the Bell" football pre-game festivities on October 5th (Albi - 7 pm). Read more . . .

Award of Excellence

Congratulations to Luke Thomas of Mt. Spokane High School who is the recipient of the Washington State Historical Society's "Governor's Award for Excellence in Teaching History." This award will be presented at the society's annual meeting in Tacoma on September 22. Read more . . .
