2015 "Hoops for Hope" XI

Thanks to the Mead, Mt. Spokane, Northwood and Mountainside staff members who played in the 2015 "Hoops for Hope" basketball game. The event raised nearly $3,000 this year for a grant total of $48,000 contributed to help fight cancer over the past eleven years.

Kress Gallery Art Show

During the month of February 2015 artwork from Mt. Spokane High School and Mead High School students will be on display at the Kress Gallery located on the Food Court/2nd floor of Riverpark Square in downtown Spokane. 2015 Mead Education Foundation Grants

Each school year the Mead Education Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering excellence in learning for all Mead School District students, awards grants to teachers to fund innovative approaches to learning. Popsicle Bridge Building Contest

Thanks to the efforts of engineering teachers Bill Patrick (Mt. Spokane) and Andy Arnold (Mead) the Mead School District received a $3,300 grant from the Washington State Foundation for Structural Engineers to hold a Popsicle Bridge Building Contest on February 7, 2015, 9 a.m. at Mt. 2015 "Hoops for Hope" Benefit Basketball Game

This annual benefit basketball game has the Mead High School/Northwood staff taking on the Mt. Spokane/Mountainside staff on Wednesday, February 4th - 7:30 p.m. at Mt. Spokane High School. Admission: $5 donation. During the past ten years this event has raised over $45,000 to help flight cancer.

Bond & Levy Community Information Meetings & KXLY Bond/Levy News Report

The Mead School District is bringing two ballot measures to voters - the RENEWAL of our Maintenance and Operations LEVY and a Facilities Improvement BOND. Voters will receive ballots on January 23 and must vote by February 10. Two Community Information Meetings are scheduled to answer questions: January 21 @ Midway Elementary and January 28 @ Northwood MIddle School - both start at 7 p.m. Read more . . .

Hagan Foundation Grant Awards

In December 2014, Hagan Foundation Innovation Grants were awarded to both Mt. Spokane High School ($20,000, co-recipient with Nine Mile's Lakeside High School) and Riverpoint Academy ($10,900). Read more . . .
