Superintendent

The Mead School District Board of Directors, selected Travis W. Hanson as Mead School District’s next superintendent during the regular meeting of the board on Monday, March 13, 2023. Hanson officially took over as Superintendent on July 1, 2023, replacing departing Superintendent Shawn Woodward who has accepted a similar position in Monroe (Wash.) School District. 

Hanson served as the Superintendent of Deer Park School District since 2013, beginning his work there in 2005. A product of the Mead School District, he graduated in 1990 from Mead High School and returned to teach there in 1996. This was followed by a brief period of time working at Mead’s District Office as a Curriculum & Technology Specialist.
