• Late Start Wednesday Information (does not apply to students in Mead Learning Options programs – North Star, Five Mile Prairie, MLO HS, MVP, and Mead Outdoor School)
  • School will start 40 minutes later on Wednesday, with the exception of the following dates. These instances will be communicated multiple times leading up to each date.
    • September 3
    • October 15
    • January 21
    • February 11
    • June 10
  • Please note the first Wednesday (Sept. 3) will be a normal start school day, and the first Late Start Wednesday will be Sept. 10. 
  • For Wednesday Late Start beginning on Sept. 10, if an elementary student needs supervision, parents can drop their child off at the school beginning at 9 a.m. This time frame until they transition to breakfast or class lineup will be supervised, but not structured with activities.
  • Grades 9-12 Zero Hour Courses on Wednesday
    • Teachers of zero hour courses will meet with their students to share expectations for Wednesday mornings and how they will be impacted due to the late start. More information will be sent home, via email, from your student’s high school. 
  • Grades 9-12 Skills Center Programs on Wednesday
    • Each Wednesday, students must board a bus at 8:25 a.m. at Mead High School or Mt. Spokane High School to travel to their program of study at NEWTech Skills Center.
    • Administrators and teachers at NEWTech Skills Center will accommodate our students for any missed time on Wednesdays. 

• Transportation sent route and stop information to families of registered bus riders last week. Please check your email for that information. 
  • All bus riders must register each year, so if you still need to register a bus rider, click here.
  • Bus Arrival Times
    • Elementary (Grades K-5) All of our buses are scheduled to arrive at their respective schools around 8:50 a.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. On Wednesday Late Start (beginning Sept. 10), the buses will arrive around 9:30 a.m.
    • Middle School (Grades 6-8)
      • Highland Middle School:
        • 7:40 a.m. Mon, Tues, Thurs, and Fri.
        • 8:20 a.m. on Wed. (beginning Sept. 10)
      • Mountainside Middle School:
        • 7:40 a.m. on Mon, Tues, Thurs, and Fri.
        • 8:15 a.m. on Wed. (beginning Sept. 10)
      • Northwood Middle School:
        • 7:30 a.m. on Mon, Tues, Thurs, and Fri.
