Summer Hours
August 23 - September 3 (7 a.m. - noon; 1-3 p.m.) The first day of school is Tuesday, September 7th. Classes start at 8:10 a.m.

Mead High School is proud to publish In Pursuit 2009-2010 which outlines evidence of growth during the past school year, as well as priorities for continuous improvement during the upcoming school year and beyond. The In Pursuit document demonstrates our constant pursuit of excellence to achieve our mission of Mind, Heart, Spirit through the 4 A's (Academics, Activities, Arts, and Athletics). Fall sports are currently underway for the 2010-2011 school year. Students may participate in: The Mead School District Board of Directors has approved an annual, one time, activity fee of $40 for high school students who participate in one or more activities that require turning in an athletic eligibility packet (all athletic teams plus dance team and cheerleaders). The purpose of this annual fee is to protect extra-curricular programs at the elementary, middle and high school levels from elmination. Payment is required prior to participation. This fee is waived for students eligible for Free Lunch and reduced to $20 for those qualifying for Reduced Lunch. Another change for 2010-2011 will be a reduction in the activity bus schedule.  Wednesday, September 1st
3-6 p.m.
Incoming 9th graders and students new to MHS for the 2010-2011 school year are invited to an informal Open House on Wednesday, September 1st from 3-6 p.m. Leadership students will be available for tours and the Business Office will be open to collect fees.

Sweatshirt/t-shirt logo designs are currently being accepted for 2010-2011 MHS apparel. The deadline for submission is Friday, September 10th. Please submit designs to MHS athletic director, Dick Cullen. This contest is open to all MHS students.

Statewide College Math Placement Test
There is now a statewide college math placement test for students who are planning to take college level math at any of Washington state's two or four year schools. Please visit www.placement.washington.edu for additional information.

A safe learning environment is a top priority at Mead High School. Therefore, we periodically conduct crisis drills in our building simulating real life situations. Some drills may be unannounced. If you have a question about a drill or a real life situation please phone District Office (465-6000). Information will also be posted on the Mead School District website.
