Dear Parents and Guardians, During February 8th to March 5th, your child(ren) will be taking the Washington Language Proficiency Test-II (WLPT-II). All students in Washington State who receive services with English language instruction at school will be taking the same test. The test is given one time each year. On the test, students answer questions related to speaking, listening, reading, and writing in English. This is how you, your children, and the teacher can see how much progress your children have made in learning English. The teachers also use this information to help them figure out which skills each student needs to learn for the next school year. As always, we appreciate so much how you encourage your children to try their hardest when they are at school. When they take this test, your encouragement is extra important. We will be telling the students to pay a little more attention to getting plenty of sleep, eating a good breakfast, and arriving at school on time during the testing period. We thank you in advance for your assistance in this matter. Thank you for making learning a priority in your home. Sincerely, Millie Hill ELL Program Director |
