Important Updates

We hope everyone is having an enjoyable summer with lots of family time!  As the 2010-2011 school year approaches, we look forward to seeing our secondary students (grades 7-12) on September 7th.  We would like the parents of secondary students (grades 7-12) to attend school on the second day of class for a “mini school day” with their students on September 9th.  We will have short ten-minute class periods, so teachers can explain how parents can best support their secondary students this year.
The first elementary day of school will be on  September 8th for all Wednesday students and September 13th for Monday attendees .  Teachers (grades K-6) will hold classes in the morning and students will finish at 11:45 on the first day of class.  Parents that would like to schedule time to meet with your child’s teacher can do so in the afternoon starting at 12:30.

Parent Notification -- Changes in Student Fees

At their meeting of June 28, 2010, the Mead School District Board of Directors  approved an annual, one-time activity fee for students who participate in one or more extra-curricular activities (Elementary $20;  Middle School $30;  High School $40).

The purpose of this annual fee is to protect extra-curricular programs from elimination.  Mead students will be required to pay this fee prior to participation in sports and/or activities.

Additionally, the 2010-2011 school year will see a reduction in the activity bus schedule.  More specific information regarding the curtailment of this service will be published in August.

Please stay tuned to your school or district webpage for information updates.  Thank you for your continued support of Mead activities
