Noticing moms and men stepping up with smiles and great effort as we fulfill school needs. Here are just a few. Thanks to those who we didn't notice, but be sure to know that some other teacher or parent who saw you, did and we so appreciate you!!
1ST BIG EVENT OF THE YEAR: ICE CREAM SOCIAL & BOOK FAIR
During Bookfair week, M&M/Volunteers came with smiles as they sold books to classrooms of excited kids. Some M&M's even came to help more than once!
M&Ms' Wendy, Debbie, Gina, Su, Su's neighbor, Kim (now that's a good neighbor!), to name just a few... Thanks to all others who helped and to those M&Ms' who opened their wallets and bought! Thanks to our special Bookfairy M&M Tammy Hervey, PTO secretary, organizing the big event. Thanks to M&M Jen Wilbur who volunteered to run it next year! Friendly M&Ms' greeted, scooped, sprinkled, spooned, and washed dishes at the social. Thanks for taking an hour away from your family and instead helping other MRidge families have a great time. Thanks to our PTO Pres. M&M Melissa Rehn-Flannigan for organizing the event. Thanks to M&Ms' Travis and Shelly as they so graciously donate ALL the ice cream each year. (Williams Ice Cream) You are Awesome!
Our first PTO meeting brought me chills and a big "WOW!" came out of my mouth when I walked in and saw over 20 M&Ms' attend. What a great support for the PTO board members as you come along side us and bring your ideas and concerns. Keep coming and we thank you!
Next meeting will be held November 18th @ 6:00 school library. Thanks to M&M Busy Momma Michelle and Baby Bo together take time out of their day to grade Rocket Math papers. I was fortunate to find on another day moms and a man (a helpful dad) also grading papers together in the cafeteria. I was touched and M&M candy was shared. Thanks to M&Ms' Yvette and Trisha who had fun on their walkie-talkies as they timely move in and out the classrooms for picture day. Thanks to M&M Heather and other concerned parents who saw the importance of their child's learning. They met with Principal, Marilyn in October on one particular monday morning to get tips on making homework a successful one. The next "Mondays with Marilyn" is scheduled for Nov.3 (9-9:30) topic: "internet". Thanks to M&M Carolyn who spent a couple of days afterschool since the beginning of school with 3 very smart 6th graders as they trained for the Spelling Bee Contest scheduled in late October. Thanks in advance for all of you M&Ms' planning halloween parties, creating costumes, bringing in goodies. Upcoming School needs at this time!! TEACHER APPRECIATION DAY NOV. 14TH Jen Wilbur is requesting help. Hopefully you recieved a notice from PTOmanager on this. If not, and you are available to assemble goodie bags and or can bring a treat to add, please e-mail her. (address below) Thanks to those M&Ms' who have already signed up to help. The teachers and staff really feel the lovin' on this day and it is just as fun for us to give back. We are so thankful for them! SCHOOL PLAY: Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs M&Ms' who are artistic and creative with set design and/or costumes. We want you! Thanks for signing in when you come to volunteer along with wearing your name tag. If you don't have a name tag, just ask Angie in the office to make you one. It's a great way to learn a new name and to know we are all in this together! Like M&M candy...always remember.... Our M&M Motto: We are sweet colorful tough-shelled moms and men thinking positive and fulfilling school needs. You can e-mail us with gripes, questions, concerns. We will try to help or direct you to someone who can. Let's take care of problems. We do not believe in gossiping, instead, go to the person directly. M&Ms' take action and sometimes have to be "tough shelled" when what they believe is the right thing to do. Please be positive and know Principal Marilyn listens well and follows through quickly.
