PTSO

PTSO (Parent-Teacher-Student-Organization) membership is open to all Brentwood parents, guardians, teachers, staff and residents within Brentwood school boundaries. You may become a voting member upon payment of the $3.00 annual dues. These dues are used to help cover the cost of this handbook and directory.

Meetings are generally held the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Brentwood library.

Brentwood PTSO sponsors a raffle and carnival in March. The proceeds are used to supplement the curriculum and enhance the education of all students.

Dear Parents and Guardians,
Hello from your Parent, Teacher, Student Organization!

We would like to welcome you to the 2008-2009 school year. The purpose of the PTSO is to enhance the education of the students at Brentwood Elementary. We do this by bringing exciting, educational, and entertaining activities to the school that the District and State budget would not normally allocate. In the past we have sponsored Camp Reed, Art Programs, DARE, Reading Counts, Reading Tutor, enrichment, music and science programs, plus many guest speakers at staff and parent request. We are able to achieve this through the combined efforts of Brentwood families helping with our extremely successful fund raising event - the Brentwood Raffle, Carnival and Auction. This event will be held at Northwood Middle School on Saturday, March 14, 2009. Many volunteer hours go into this successful event for our students, and I hope that you will consider helping out.

You are always welcome at our PTSO meetings. This is a great way to learn what is happening at  Brentwood. We meet the second Tuesday of every month in the library at 6:30 pm. The minutes will be posted on the PTSO board along with upcoming events.

Thank you for taking the time to read through the directory. You will find many valuable items concerning questions you may have about the district in general, Brentwood Elementary, and your  child's classroom. Your donation of $3 is used to offset the cost of the directory, which is provided to every Brentwood family. Not only is your donation greatly appreciated, it allows you to become a voting member of the PTSO. This gives you the ability to participate in the decisions that we make for our children and our school.
