MEAD School District !00 year logo

Great public education begins with a great community like Mead, which has made its schools a point of pride for a century. Today we are 14 schools serving 9,500 students just north of Spokane, and we still take great satisfaction in our amazing staff, in our high achieving students, and in our schools' frequent rankings among the state's best.

Qualifying senior citizens can apply for a property tax exemption.

Congratulations to Mt. Spokane Principal John Hook

Before becoming principal at Mt. Spokane High School John Hook was a football coach at Lewis & Clark HS. In his 17 years at LC he compiled a record of nearly 100 wins! On January 28, 2012 Mr. Hook was inducted into the Washington State Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame. As a football coach John's mantra was "Work Hard, Have Fun, Get Better." Winning football games wasn't the primary reason John Hook got into coaching - he wanted to influence lives and build lifelong relationships. Read more . . .

Cyndi Ervin - Farwell Elementary
STCU's January Teacher of the Month

Congratulations to Farwell 4th grade teacher Cyndi Ervin who, nominated by student Hannah Pegram, was recently named STCU's January Teacher of the Month.

Ms. Ervin says, "I love teaching 4th graders because they are so eager and excited about learning and have unlimited potential . . . the sky's the limit! I try to instill confidence in each and every one of my students with lots of praise and positive reinforcement. Once they believe in themselves, they can achieve anything!"
