Even though it was a rainy evening nearly 7,500 students, parents, grandparents and community members came to cheer for their respective team and be a part of the bigger Battle of the Bell experience. The Mead School District thanks the entire community for their solidarity and support.
We also extend our appreciation to the Mead High and Mt. Spokane Athletic Booster Clubs for sponsoring pregame tailgate parties and to the Mt. Spokane Marching Band and Colorguard for an outstanding half-time performance.
The traveling Victory Bell, originally mounted in the Greenbluff school steeple and then relocated to the Farwell Schoolhouse when the Mead Consolidated Union School District opened in 1911, will be housed at Mead High until the Panthers and Wildcats square off again next year at this annual in-district football classic.
